ADCData & Mid 2018 Downtime Statement

Enoctus Web Services Limited

We (“Enoctus Web Services Limited”) reserve the right to update this document at any time. You will be notified of any changes.

Who was affected?

Initially, we only had our Hong Kong client base affected, which accounted for 80% of all of our customers. After several months of continuous DDoS attacks, HKBN (Hong Kong Broadband Network) had forced ADCData to "unplug" our equipment despite the continuous reassurement from ADCData that they can hold off the attacks. We were provided with no notice affecting several thousand customers.

Understandably, all of our Hong Kong-based customers have requested refunds which had crippled the rest of our company. Everyone with basic business knowledge will understand that refunding payments to 80% of all clients can get a company bankrupt. Enoctus had lost a large investment in Hong Kong which prevented the rest of our global regions in London, New York, Frankfurt and Los Angeles from being financially fueled. With this, Enoctus ceased offering services entirely for a period of 2 months.

Accusations

Under the above circumstances, Enoctus could not continue offering services having refunded large sums of revenue. Our customers have been particularly upset with us continuing to accept new orders. There's a lot more to the story and we will get to it now. During the downtime, as ADCData was not interested in losing a large client such as Enoctus, they have proposed to buy 50% of Enoctus to continue operating as a branch of ADCData and a separate ASN. To save their own sinking ship, they've misinformed, or quite frankly lied to all of their customers that they have discontinued services with us and terminated the inexistent contracts. The idea was that people attacking their network will cease the attacks after they learn that Enoctus is no longer within their network. With the promise of a future with ADCData, we continued business operations as usual while we've been refunding the initial wave of unhappy customers.

Please find the following chat logs with ADCData explaining why Enoctus continued operating as normal despite 80% of clients being down. The PDF below shows evidence of ADCData's plans to acquire parts of Enoctus.

The lesson

Enoctus will not initiate a trade with unreputable suppliers in Eastern Asia or anywhere in the world. Enoctus' suppliers are now contracted to avoid similar unexpected business disruption from reoccurring in future. As much as we wished legal justice was delivered to ADCData with their misinformation on attack resilience, our hands are unfortunately currently tied due to the businesses operating in two very different parts of the world.

Enoctus continued business as usual in western locations later in July 2018. As with most large companies, we've also had our ups and downs. Despite the accusations of "deadpooling", Enoctus has not changed its name, as we believe our brand is strong enough to recover. Anyone who was affected was either refunded or compensated. Should we have missed anyone, please email us at billing@enoctus.co.uk.

I am ready to start a new project with Enoctus.
